Judy discovered the harp while studying piano at HSU. The moment her fingers touched the strings, she was hooked. She earned her BA in Music Education as well as a CA teaching credential from HSU, while pursuing the harp on her own. She and her husband owned and operated a Christian bookstore in Humboldt County for 35 years.
Judy served Humboldt County for 40 years as the local symphony harpist while operating her teaching studio through the HSU Music Academy. Her playing the harp at patient bedsides began in 2000 as one of the original participants in The Journey program at Redwood Memorial Hospital. She received her CMP certification in 2013. Judy served her internship at Sutter Hospital in Roseville, Bristol Hospice, and College Oak Nursing and Rehab.
Judy loves teaching children to play the harp. But her greatest passion is to bring her harp alongside seniors, especially those with dementia and Alzheimer’s, as well as hospice patients.
